Meet Rayleen

Founder of Good Grief - The Journey

Rayleen Wright is the founder of Good Grief - The Journey, a grief education/coaching business shaped by more than 20 years of walking alongside people through some of life’s most difficult moments.

A grief educator and Chaplain with The Salvation Army, Rayleen has spent more than two decades (including time in other roles too) sitting beside families in hospital waiting rooms, church foyers and quiet living rooms. She has listened, prayed, supported and helped people navigate the tangled support systems that surround change and loss.

Her work has equipped her with a deep understanding that grief is not a one size, fits all experience. Every person, family and story is different, and sometimes what people need most is someone willing to sit beside them, listen without judgement and help them find their way through.

Her work is also deeply personal. Rayleen’s own journey through grief, including the loss of her daughter, Kaya, has shaped her understanding of what it means to live with loss and continue moving forward.

Good Grief was born from this combination of experience, compassion and lived understanding, with a desire to make navigating grief a little less lonely.

My Story

My understanding of grief has been shaped by both my own experiences of loss and the many people I have had the privilege of walking alongside.

During COVID-19, I experienced the loss of both my parents in the UK. Unable to travel and with no funeral to attend, I experienced the pain of grieving from a distance and the helplessness of being unable to say goodbye in person.

Not long afterwards, major weather events in our own community brought a different kind of grief. I saw how loss can extend far beyond death, as people lost homes, businesses, possessions, pets, connection and their sense of security.

Today, much of my work is alongside care partners supporting loved ones living with dementia. I see the quiet, often unseen grief that comes with watching someone you love change while they are still here.

These experiences have taught me that grief is unique to every person, but our need for connection is universal. We all need to feel heard, understood and supported, and to know that we are not alone.

That is why I created Good Grief - The Journey. My passion is to help families and care partners understand grief, make space for it and learn to grieve well, without trying to rush, fix or minimise what they are experiencing.

You Don't Have to
Walk This Journey Alone

Good Grief - The Journey offers compassionate grief coaching and support for people navigating loss in its many forms.

Whether you are grieving a death, supporting someone living with a long-term or terminal illness ie; Dementia, or adjusting to a life that looks different than you expected or planned for, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

Rayleen provides a safe, understanding space to explore what grief is doing within you, learn healthy ways to carry it, and find hope alongside loss. This is not about fixing grief or moving on. It is about being heard, understood and supported.
